How often should I meet with a virtual fitness coach?

Trying to figure out how often you want to meet with your virtual fitness coach is a question many coaches get asked by new clients. However, the difficulty with this question comes in the answer: it depends. You’re probably curious what exactly it depends on when meeting with your coach. At Paru Fitness, we have five things that you need to consider when setting up a schedule with your fitness coach. Read our guide below to learn what you should consider when planning to meet with your virtual fitness coach.

Your personal goals

Everything you do with a fitness plan is determined by the goals you set for yourself. Think about how much weight you want to lose, the gains you want to make, and the milestones you want to reach. You have to put in the work to get there. Your fitness coach will help you outline a schedule that will make your goals attainable within the timeframe you want. This will often determine how many times you should meet with your coach each week.

Your availability

One of the biggest obstacles people have to overcome when working a fitness routine into their schedule is making the time in their busy schedule to get to the gym. While it’s easy to look at your week and say you don’t have time, you probably do have some time in there somewhere. It typically means sacrificing some time watching Netflix or playing video games, but you have time to get a workout in. Make an effort to build your exercise routine around the parts of your schedule that aren’t flexible, then make adjustments to the parts that are.

Your budget

We have a budget for everything. Whether it’s food, gas, rent, or utilities, we have to budget our money to make sure it lasts as long as we need it to. Think about your budget when meeting with a virtual fitness coach. You might have goals that can best be achieved when meeting with your coach for sessions five days a week, but your budget says you can do two days tops.

A small budget for fitness training can be discouraging, but it doesn’t have to be. Make the most of your solo workout sessions each week by having your coach outline what you need to do and how you can successfully continue to work toward your goals.

Your personal fitness level

Not everybody is at the same level when they start a new exercise routine. You might be starting up after several years off from the gym or simply wanting to mix up the routine you’ve had for months when meeting with a fitness coach for the first time.

Starting a new routine is a great way to reinvigorate yourself into an exercise regimen, but you don’t want to get carried away early. Someone who’s starting out isn’t going to be physically prepared to go put in five days of hard work each week like somebody whose body is conditioned for that many workouts. Consider your personal fitness level when deciding how many days you want to meet with your fitness coach.
